Adem\u00e1s de la estrategia nacional, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os diferentes comunidades aut\u00f3nomas han venido trabajando el ecoturismo a nivel regional. Desde actuaciones de promoci\u00f3n hasta la adecuada planificaci\u00f3n, firma de convenios, celebraci\u00f3n de Foros, creaci\u00f3n de Mesas de Ecoturismo y grupos de trabajo, etc. Durante la mesa red de \u00e1reas protegidas de Europa y que por extensi\u00f3n y n\u00famero de espacios naturales es tambi\u00e9n la mayor red de espacios naturales protegidos del mundo.
